Golden Lane Estate is the older but lesser known sibling of the Barbican Estate. It was the first project designed by the newly-formed partnership of Geoffry Powell, Peter Chamberlin and Christoph Bon who later went on to design the neighbouring Barbican, Vanbrugh Estate in Greenwich and Murray Edwards College in Cambridge among many other striking landmarks of British Modernism and Brutalism.
